Products & Safety
What are your sensory mixes made from?
Our mixes are made with a variety of colourful food-based sensory fillers and pasta shapes, chosen for their colour, texture and play possibilities. Ingredients vary by mix, so please check each product listing for details.
What age are your sensory mixes recommended for?
Our sensory mixes are recommended for ages 3+ with adult supervision. They contain small pieces and are not suitable for children who still mouth play materials.
Are the sensory mixes edible?
No. Although many of our sensory fillers begin as food-based materials, our mixes are created for play only and are not intended for eating or consumption.
Do your products contain allergens?
Our mixes use food-based materials and may contain or come into contact with allergens. Please review the information on the individual product listing and packaging before play.
Are the mixes handmade?
Yes! Our mixes are coloured, assembled and packaged in small batches here in Ontario.
Ordering & Shipping
When do new mixes become available?
Little Monkie’s releases a mix of core favourites, themed creations and limited seasonal drops. Availability can change as small batches sell through.
Where do you ship?
We ship to all Canadian provinces with our standard flat rate shipping option. As our business grows we hope to add more options!
We offer free local pickup to our Grey Bruce Ontario customers.
How long will my order take to process?
Because our mixes are prepared in small batches, processing times can vary by drop and order volume. Current timing will be posted with ordering information when the shop opens.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact us as soon as possible with your order details and photos of the damage so we can help.
Sensory Play
How do I use a sensory mix?
Pour it into a bin or tray and add whatever fits your child’s play: scoops, cups, tongs, bowls, small toys or themed pieces. Kids can scoop, pour, sort, count, build stories and invent their own ways to play.
Do I need a sensory table?
Not at all. A shallow bin, baking tray, large container or play mat can work beautifully. The best setup is the one that works in your space.
How should I store my sensory mix?
Keep your mix dry and store it sealed in its pouch or another airtight container between play sessions. Discard the mix if it becomes wet, contaminated or damaged.
Can sensory mixes be reused?
Yes. With clean, dry hands and proper storage, sensory mixes can come back out for many play sessions.
