How Little Monkie’s began

Little Monkie’s Play Pantry started with a simple idea: make sensory play colourful, creative and easy to enjoy at home.

As a mom of seven, I’ve seen how much kids can get out of open-ended play — scooping, pouring, sorting, pretending, experimenting and creating their own little worlds. Some days it’s calm and focused. Other days it’s gloriously messy. Either way, it gives kids space to explore in their own way.

Every sensory mix is made in small batches with bright colours, interesting textures and playful themes designed to spark imagination.

The story behind MONKIE

The name Little Monkie’s is especially meaningful to me. MONKIE comes from the names MONica, Keira, Ivy and Everleigh — a little piece of our family built right into the brand.

It’s a reminder that this business began at home, inspired by the little people who make our days louder, messier, funnier and much more colourful.

Meet the maker

Hi, I’m Monica — mom of seven, homeschooler, sensory-play enthusiast and the person behind Little Monkie’s Play Pantry.

I create, colour, mix, test and package each batch here in Ontario. Most ideas begin at the kitchen table, usually surrounded by kids, bins, pasta, paint and at least one cup of tea.

This little business grew from a love of making things, creating fun experiences for kids and building something meaningful for my family.
